From winter activities to holiday shopping, there’s countless reasons to head to Boston this winter.

City Lights

The Boston holiday season officially begins with the annual holiday lighting ceremony on Boston Common. This downtown park is a perfect destination for couples, families, or anyone looking for good clean holiday cheer. The tree-lighting ceremony usually occurs at the beginning of December.

Holiday Concerts

Boston attracts the best musicians all year round, but there’s always great concerts going on all winter long. Get out of the cold and into a theatre. There are also holiday concerts from popular artists to classical symphony including the legendary Boston Pops Orchestra. The Orchestra becomes the Holiday Pops for a performance complete with the standard Christmas classics.

Visit Quincy Market

Quincy Market is one of the Boston’s most popular tourist destinations, but is even more popular for the holidays. Free for everyone, Blink! Is a holiday-themed light and sound show at Faneuil Hall Marketplace with the biggest Christmas trees in the northeast and live holiday music.
